What happens when I contact you?
You can contact me by email or phone. It helps me if you can tell me what help you are seeking and what time of day you are available for appointments. Then we arrange an initial appointment. This gives us both the opportunity to see how we can work together and allows me the opportunity to assess how you are, what help I believe you need and whether your expectations of counselling are appropriate and realistic. I also need to explain the business element of my practice.
There is time for you to ask questions of me. It can help to write these down beforehand.
Every effort is made to provide you with privacy and confidentiality; to help you relax and feel safe.
Having established whether brief or long term counselling is required, we then agree to meet at regular intervals. Each session usually lasts one hour and initially occurs weekly.
Telephone counselling can also be arranged, following initial face to face sessions. Our work ends with a review to clarify your progress.
